Trends, Traditions & Transitions

David ZachThe start of another new year – and a new decade – brings a quickened tempo of anticipation for the 2010 Wisconsin Governor’s Conference on Tourism. The 2010 conference leads with its theme: Traditions, Trends and Transitions. The future of Wisconsin’s tourism industry is all about honoring our past while looking to the future. As we do more this less, we all need to maximize profits while conserving resources, recognize growth opportunities in an otherwise tepid economy, and hold the course on our core values while sailing into the future.

WIGCOT 2010 has some answers.

On Monday morning, we’ll hear from futurist, David Zach on “An Owner’s Guide to the Future” and what it could hold for us. Tuesday morning will bring a presentation on “Accelerating Growth” from Dan Burrus, author of the international best seller Technotrends. Monday’s afternoon workshops require you to come prepared for some in-depth discussions. Call them what you will – round-tables, best practices, or just an exchange of information – these sessions require you to share both your successes and failures. Meet with your peers, learn from them, and discover what works and what doesn’t.

Then on Tuesday afternoon, we look to the future in a vision session with Secretary Trumble, a panel discussion with the Governor’s Council on Tourism, along with top tips for effectively utilizing social media.

And that’s just a sampling…join us as we chart the future.

We look forward to seeing you in Milwaukee at the Midwest Express Center,
March 14-16.
