The 2010 Governor’s Conference on Tourism is just days away and we’re getting ready to load up! Following is some information we thought might be helpful as you pack your bags and plan your travels. All Roads Lead to the Midwest Airlines Center

The conference will be held at the Midwest Airlines Center on Monday and Tuesday, March 15 & 16th. The Midwest Airlines Center is located at 400 W. Wisconsin Avenue. Click here for directions.


But… the Opening Reception is at Potawatomi Bingo Casino

Potawatomi Bingo Casino logoThe Opening Reception on Sunday evening, March 14th, is hosted by our event sponsors at the Potawatomi Bingo Casino located at 1721 West Canal Street. Click here for driving directions. Better yet, hop the shuttle sponsored by Wisconsin Coach Lines. Shuttles will run from 5:30pm to 10:30, with stops at the Hilton and Hyatt.

Twitter logoHave you heard the buzz about Twitter? If not join us for a Meet and Tweet during the opening reception at Potawatomi. If you’re new to Twitter, we’ll help you get set up and provide tips for tweeting during the conference. If you’re already tweeting, make sure you’re following @TravelWI for conference updates and feel free to use the #WIGCOT hashtag when talking about the conference.


First-Timer Meet & Greet

For first-time attendees and students, if you are attending the Governor’s Conference on Tourism for the first-time, we look forward to meeting you at the First-Time Attendee Meet & Greet. It’s scheduled for Sunday evening, March 14, from 6:00pm to 6:30m in the Wild Earth Restaurant at Potawatomi Bingo Casino. Take this time to meet other first-timers, council members and department staff.


Registration Materials

Nametag pick-up will be available at the Opening Reception at Potawatomi. All other registration materials can be picked up at the Midwest Airlines Center on Monday morning.


Bus/Shuttle Information

Coach USA logoComplimentary shuttle buses will run on Sunday evening, March 14th from the Hilton and Hyatt hotels, to the Opening Reception at the Potawatomi Bingo Casino. Shuttle starts at 5:30pm and runs until 10:30pm.


Conference Dress Code

For the opening reception on Sunday casual attire is appropriate. Business or business casual is suggested for all daytime meeting sessions. For the Governor’s Reception and Banquet, business or semi-formal attire is recommended.


Parking

Parking can be found at all selected conference hotels for overnight guests. Public parking for day guests, or those wishing to drive in, can be found in various city ramps. Click here for map.
